One more opponent left to complete the road to redemption for the Kaya FC-Iloilo squad.
The Kaya FC will defend their Copa Paulino Alcantara Cup trophy against their main nemesis, Ceres-Negros FC.
Second to the Ceres-Negros squad during the 2019 PFL Season, Kaya looked ahead and was laser-sharp focused at the start of the 2019 Copa Paulino Alcantara Cup.
During the Copa Cup, the mindset of the Iloilo squad was to defend their title and giving the championship up to Ceres during the PFL season was motivation enough.
Aside from defending their championship, the defending Copa champs have something to prove against Ceres after garnering a winless season against them in the 2019 PFL.
With Jordan Mintah easily getting back in shape after a banged-up PFL season, all eyes would be on him on how he can match up with the tight defense of Ceres.
During the whole season, Mintah’s reputation as Kaya’s clutch player and main gunner has been marked, with him scoring whenever the team needs him the most.
This will not only be a rivalry game between the two clubs but also a showdown of the AFC cup qualifiers.
Their Copa Paulino Alcantara finals berth was their ticket to qualify again for the AFC Cup in 2020.
