After a historic run as the first rookie team to punch a ticket to the finals in the Philam 7’s Football League, the Kaya FC Women lost to a veteran Stallion Hiraya squad, 1-0.
Going in as the favorites to win the title, Kaya FC came in confident and stuck to the game plan that earned them an undefeated eliminations record.
The match showed shades of their elimination game as Stallion tightened their defense to focus on denying the ball and not let the ball push further.
With Stallion’s style of play, the Women’s started to miss opportunities and exhaust themselves trying to counter the tight defense against them.
Despite going in as the number one ranked team, Kaya knew that they were in for the greatest challenge as the Haraya team they faced were all veterans and well-adjusted to the 7’s format.
After the loss, it was still all smiles and raised heads as Kaya Women’s still finished their first tournament on a positive note.
