After the recently concluded Philippines Football League (PFL) 2020 bubble edition, the job is still not finished for the Kaya FC-Iloilo booters.
The Iloilo-based football squad will be vying for supremacy in the 2021 AFC Cup Asean Zone to be held on June 22 to 28.
During the group staging draw, Kaya FC was placed in group I together with Malaysian squad Terengganu FC and Geylang International FC from Singapore.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, specific venues for all the matches are yet to be determined by the AFC Cup officials.
Aside from the prized AFC Cup this June, Kaya FC will also fight for a spot in the AFC Champions League and will square-off against Brisbane Roar on April 7.
If Kaya FC wins against Brisbane they will then compete against Beijing Guoan from China on April 14, 2021. If they complete the two-game sweep, they will be placed under Group F of the tourney.
Meanwhile, co-PH squad United City FC (formerly Ceres-Negros FC) were already placed in Group I with Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, Kawasaki Frontale, and either South Korea’s Daegu FC or Thailand’s Chiangrai United.
