Kaya FC-Iloilo broke the Green Archers United’s hearts with a scintillating 1-0 win thanks to a brilliant goal by Jordan Mintah.
Both teams were at par defensively and offensively, getting equal opportunities and doing a wonderful job defending their backlines.
Kaya captain Jovin Bedic led his team offensively only to be stymied by the Green Archers’ nagging defense.
Then came the clutch minutes: Mintah found a way to scoop the ball into the net of the opposing side in the 86th minute mark.
Despite the physical play of the Green Archers, Mintah showed no signs of wear and kept his composure until the last 5 minutes to unleash that wonderful conversion.
The Green Archers had a chance to tie in the last two minutes when veteran midfielder John Celiz sprinted with the ball to the other side but Kaya deflected his attempt.
