Kaya FC-Iloilo will be bracing for a tough rematch against their rival squad United City FC (formerly Ceres-Negros FC) on November 12, 2022, in the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL).
After dropping their first match last September 17, 2022, 2-0, the Kaya FC booters suddenly went on an impressive winning streak and are still the league’s top team.
Aside from a bounce-back attempt from their rivals, Kaya FC will also look to finish the elimination phase on a high note.
The Ilonggo booters are currently on a three-match winning streak and won all of their games against Mendiola FC, Maharlika Manila, and Stallion Laguna FC.
Winning against United City will solidify their No. 1 spot heading into the playoffs and will have the chance to improve their current record of nine wins and two losses.
Meanwhile, the United City team is sitting behind Kaya FC in the standings and already accumulated 21 points after six wins.
Kaya FC will be banking on their balanced offensive attack against the organized United City defense and will have to communicate more in the backline which cost them two goals during their first encounter.
Their defensive miscommunications were also the reason for their losses against the Dynamic Herb Cebu FC, 3-2.
Iloilo will be coming off an impressive grind-out win against the defensive-oriented Stallion Laguna FC, 2-1, during their last match and will look to extend their winning streak to four before the post-season.
