Jannik Sinner added another golden trophy to his prestigious collection, clinching the Miami Open title after sweeping Jiri Lehecka in the final, 6-4, 6-4, on March 30, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
It’s insane how Sinner wrapped up his Miami Open quest.
Six wins without a single set lost from the Round of 64 to the championship round? Sinner is just on another level, folks.
With the one-sided championship win, Sinner is expected to stay put at No. 2 in the ATP rankings while capturing his 26th tour-level trophy during the 1000 event in Miami.
If there’s any word to describe the 24-year-old Italian in the final, it would be merciless.
Eager to cap off his Miami Open campaign with six consecutive 2-0 wins, Sinner flaunted another offensive masterclass, submerging Lehecka in a deep bag of scoring techniques that landed inside the line at will.
Sinner picked up where he left off after a convincing semifinal victory over Alexander Zverev, where he nearly stumbled when the German challenger forced him into a tiebreaker in the second set.
Instead of playing at Zverev’s pace, Sinner quickly changed the complexion of the semifinal thriller when he rediscovered his first-set efficiency, pummeling the world No. 3 with on-point angles and down-the-line baseline winners.
Sinner brought that exact grit and intensity against Lehecka, steering himself to an early two-game lead in the opener after a much-needed break point in the seventh game of the set.
From his on-the-rise forehand bombs to his clinical passing shots, Sinner looked invincible throughout the match while also holding all of his service games.
Despite the massive adjustments Lehecka deployed in hopes of slowing Sinner down, all those strategic moves came to no avail as the waxing-hot king met force with force, neutralizing any parrying counters with topspin down-the-line winners.
After just two sets, Sinner wrapped up the championship round with 72 total points won, 17 on the return, including 15 service aces.
“It means a lot to me,” Sinner said after capturing the title.
“It’s something I never would’ve thought because it’s difficult to achieve. We made it somehow. I tried to stay solid in important moments, and I’m very happy to take this trophy home with me.”
