It seems like Filipino karateka superstar James De Los Santos will end 2020 as the current world no.1 in the virtual kata.
De Los Santos managed to grab another championship trophy after the virtual kata great toppled his opponents in the fifth Leg of the 2020 SportData e-Tournament World Series.
Previously, the Filipino karateka superstar notched two gold medals in two separate tournaments which made it hard for former world no.1 in the virtual kata Eduardo Garcia to catch-up.
“I’m widening the gap even further in the eKata world rankings since this e-tournament is nearly four times the amount of ranking points,” De Los Santos said.
De Los Santos set up a showdown against Kishimoto no Kushanku of Switzerland in the tournament finals where the PH pride had 24.9 points compared to the opposition’s 23.7.
In the tournament semifinals, De Los Santos faced all the toughest challenges after South Africa’s Salvio Cerone-Biagoni was able to make it a close contest, 24.4-24.1.
