Jake Paul’s quest to convince the world of his boxing legitimacy just went the distance.
On Aug. 21, 2025, multiple reports confirmed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will face World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition fight on Nov. 14, 2025, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Yes, he is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds,” Paul posted on his official X account.
Paul holds notable wins against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, NBA Slam Dunk champion Nate Robinson, and MMA legends Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz.
However, this matchup presents a greater challenge for the celebrity boxer, who has mostly fought retired athletes past their prime.
A knockout artist still in his prime, Davis boasts a professional record of 30 wins, including 28 knockouts, and no losses.
This will be Paul’s first time facing an active boxing world champion since his loss to Tommy Fury two years ago.
Paul struggled in that bout and lost via split decision, although many believed Fury had done enough to earn a unanimous cruiserweight win.
Despite giving up size and reach to Paul, Davis has a proven record of taking down bigger opponents.
He overcame the same disadvantages against Leo Santa Cruz and Mario Barrios, using well-timed uppercuts to score knockout victories.
Davis’ most recent fight ended in a controversial draw against Lamont Roach Jr. last March, and he has yet to make another title defense.
Weeks earlier, Manny Pacquiao expressed interest in a blockbuster fight with Davis, but developments now point to a possible matchup with Rolly Romero.
Davis has yet to comment on the Paul bout, but ESPN confirmed that both camps have reached an agreement.
