Jaja Santiago received another call-up to play in the Japan Volleyball League, confirmed on Aug. 27, 2025.
One of the Philippines’ top middle blockers, Santiago will suit up for the Denso Airybees—the same club where current Alas Pilipinas captain and setter Jia Morado-De Guzman once played as an Asian import.
In a social media post, the Denso Airybees officially welcomed Santiago and highlighted her championship experience since debuting in Japan in 2018.
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to play for Denso Airybees this season,” Santiago said.
“My goal is to give my best every game, improve continuously and help us achieve great results. Together, I believe we can reach our goal and make everyone proud.”
Santiago first made headlines when she was signed by the Saitama Ageo Medics during the mid-season of the Japan V. League.
Fresh off a Premier Volleyball League title run with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, she became the first Filipina to win a championship overseas.
She helped lead the Ageo Medics to a dramatic semifinal win over V. League champions JT Marvelous in a five-set thriller.
In the finals, Santiago starred in a defensive showcase against the NEC Red Rockets, recording seven blocks—the most by any player in the championship series.
After four seasons with Saitama, she transferred to the Osaka Marvelous, one of the most successful clubs in V. League history.
“A big thank you to the team for welcoming me. I’m excited to work hard and contribute to our success,” Santiago added.
