IPPO seizes PHP 15.8 million shabu in August

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized 2.314 kilograms of suspected shabu worth PHP 15.8 million during its monthlong anti-illegal drugs campaign in August.

The seizures came from 35 law enforcement operations conducted from Aug. 1 to 31, 2026.

IPPO also arrested 38 suspects.

Of the total, 24 were classified as high-value individuals, while 13 were tagged as street-level individuals.

IPPO Director Police Col. Bayani Razalan said the accomplishment was the result of the unwavering commitment, dedication, and concerted efforts of police personnel.

“It sends a clear message that our campaign against illegal drugs remains relentless and focused, with the continued support of our partner agencies and stakeholders. We will continue to strengthen our strategies and intensify our operations to ensure that those who choose to engage in illegal activities are held accountable and brought before the court of law,” Razalan added.

The IPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit recorded the largest seizure of suspected illegal drugs, valued at PHP 4.3 million.

The Balasan Municipal Police Station followed with approximately PHP 1.8 million worth of suspected shabu, while the Dumangas Municipal Police Station seized about PHP 1.6 million worth.

All arrested suspects are facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
