Investor expresses confidence in Bacolod’s business climate

BACOLOD City – Businessman and music icon Jose Mari Chan expressed confidence in the business climate of this city as he encourages other businesses to invest.

Chan was here on July 8, 2019 for the inauguration of their family-owned Villa Magdalena Commercial  Center and to break ground for the  Villa Florencia  Subdivision on Murcia Road at Barangay Mansilingan here.

The two projects are developments of Morning Glow Development Corp which Chan heads.

Aside from Mayor Evelio Leonardia, also present in the events was Chan’s daughter, Marie Angelica Chan, sales and marketing director of Morning Glow.

Chan said that while their business is mainly in sugar (they own the Binalbagan Sugar Central or BISCOM), they are investing in housing as well.

He said Bacolod City being a “business-friendly city,” has all the potentials for investors.

He also said that they decided to invest in the city because they also have confidence in the leadership of Leonardia.

The commercial building and the housing project are located on a 40-hectare property which the Chans bought years ago.

Marie Angelica Chan said they invested in the housing project in answer to the growing demand for houses, especially from government employees.

She said it is a socialized housing project and is well within the means of government workers.

Leonardia said the city will remain friendly to investors as it opens new opportunities for the locals, especially in terms of employment.
