Indeed, it’s always fulfilling when you can give back to the institution that molded you.
With the main aim of reconnecting again while also giving a helping hand to the younger generation, the Iloilo National High School Alumni Football Club spearheaded a donation of various equipment to the school last June 2, 2023, held inside the campus.
The football club donated balls and several drill tools like rope ladders, disc cones, training cones, and training bibs for the future varsity team of INHS.
Everything was made possible through the efforts of the football club with the helping hand from the different programs of the INHS: The Special Science Class (SSC), School of the Future (SOF), School for Sports, and the Regular Class.
Present during the turnover ceremony are Raoul Suarez, Karl Bedeo, Clint Vincent Juanico, and the current principal of INHS, Delorah Cecilia Fantillo.
In an interview with Mr. Suarez, the acting president of the INHS FC 40-Up, this initiative is also dedicated to their ultimate mentor, Sir Julius Plondaya, their former head coach and the man who helped them gain vast football knowledge and skills.
According to Mr. Suarez, it is also Mr. Plondaya who initiated forming the football club which is mainly composed of his former varsity players.
Mr. Plondaya kicked off his coaching duties for INHS way back in 1996 and is also a MAPEH teacher on the campus.
In just a span of over a month, the INHS Alumni FC instantly grew to 55 members, 25 active members in the 40-up category and 30 active members in the open category.
INHS became one of the top-performing football schools back in the day and also produced several booters who represented the country on the international scene.
Several INHS football program products that played for the PHL team several years ago were Michael Fuertes, Ramil Guillergan, Mike Gormia, and Harish Chandiramani.
