Shuttlers from the Iloilo Private School’s Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) dominated the 2020 Western Visayas Private School’s Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Regional meet in the badminton tertiary women category.
Outlasting the finest badminton athletes from Capiz, Aklan, and Negros, the squad from Iloilo swept all other competing teams to cruise their way to grab the championship title.
The lineup of Danielle Grace Lopez, Pamela Lopez, Sabrina Layson, Dianne Bolilan, and Elaine Fajartin delivered the gold for Iloilo behind the brilliant coaching of Jornellous Castro.
The round-robin tournament format set up a clash with powerhouse Aklan for the championship match which Iloilo notched off patient and disciplined rallies.
With Aklan winning first-runner up, the shuttlers from Capiz got the second-runner up spot, followed by Negros.
The winning lineup will represent Region VI in the upcoming 2020 National PRISAA where they will be squaring off with the best athletes from NCR and Mindanao.
