We will no longer see Ronald “The Fearless” Tubid shoot deep dagger threes or pull-off one of the sweetest fade away jumpers in the PBA.
Instead of suiting up with a player jersey and warmer, the Ilonggo hooper will now man the sidelines after getting acquired by the Terrafirma Dyip as an Assistant Coach.
After not getting the contract renewal he desired with his former team San Miguel Beermen, the native of Oton, Iloilo was absent in the league for almost one year.
One of the most-reliable veteran scorers and defenders in his prime will be sharing his knowledge with Head Coach Johnedel Cardel and the rest of the staff and he is nothing but excited to work with the team already.
Tubid will most likely groom the development of young superstars such as franchise player CJ Perez, scoring machine Rashawn McCarthy, and fellow Ilonggo JP Calvo who is slowly earning his minutes under coach Cardel’s system.
The 39-year-old Tubid will also look to incorporate his defensive mentality among the guards of the young team especially bruiser shooting-guard Glenn Khobuntin.
