A NATIVE of Guimbal, Iloilo who propelled the University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna (UPHS) Saints to the top of the NCAA South triumphed in the Calamba Overhead Invitational Badminton Tournament on Aug 3, 2019.
John Christopher T. Gonzales and partner Adrian Vince C. Alvero conquered the Men’s doubles category C of the tournament after defeating Knowel Contreras and Ruel Evangelista, 31-30.
The tournament format is different from the usual badminton scoring setup of 3 to 5 setter games.
The tandem of Gonzales and Alvero also prevailed over Yoedie Hendrianto and Jerome Pechera in the semifinals grudge match.
