ILOILO CITY — Iloilo province’s No. 3 most wanted person was arrested in a police manhunt operation Thursday afternoon, Oct. 9, in Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect as alias Nonoy, 49, a school maintenance worker from Barangay Signe, Igbaras, Iloilo.
Members of the Igbaras Municipal Police Station arrested him at his workplace in Barangay Kirayan Sur, Miag-ao.
Police served an arrest warrant for rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code in Criminal Case No. 2026-4629.
Judge Irene Banzuelo-Didulo of Regional Trial Court Branch 67 in Guimbal, Iloilo, issued the warrant on Oct. 6, 2026.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Capt. Francis Donne Lomahan, Igbaras police chief, said the suspect is ranked No. 3 on Iloilo province’s most wanted persons list.
Lomahan said the suspect appeared surprised upon learning that an arrest warrant had been issued against him.
“He claimed that he already settled the case with the complainant,” he said.
Police said the complainant, who is of legal age, also lives in Igbaras.
The alleged rape occurred three years ago.
The suspect is detained pending turnover to the court that issued the warrant.
