Iloilo to hold ‘People Power vs. COVID’ as part of EDSA celebration

The Iloilo provincial government will lead a ‘People Power Resbakuna’ program at the provincial capitol lobby on Feb 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The activity is part of 36th anniversary commemoration of the 1986 EDSA People Power revolution.

It is open to all registered and walk-in clients from 5 years old and above and will also offer booster shots for 18-year-olds and above.

Parents or guardians of children 5 to 11 years old are required to present their valid ID, the child’s birth certificate and valid ID, and medical certificate for those with comorbidities.

For those who will be receiving booster shots, the only requirement they need to present is their previous vaccination cards.

Vaccines available include doses from AstraZeneca, Janssen, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac.

People Power Resbakuna was launched last Monday, Feb. 21, and catered to capitol employees and the public at the capitol lobby.

The vaccination activity is part of the provincial government’s efforts to continue its encouragement of the public to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On Monday, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. confirmed that there will be vaccination activities as part of their commemoration of the 1986 People Power.

The main activity of the said commemoration will be a Freedom Rally at the capitol grounds on the eve of Feb. 25.

The commemoration is encouraged by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) via Memorandum Circular No. 2022-012 dated Feb. 8.
