The Iloilo United Royals will try to begin their year right as they continue their Chooks to Go MPBL Lakan Cup playoff quest today as they square up against a tough Batangas City Athletics squad.
Besides the win, the United Royals are also trying to get back on the winning track as they ended 2019 with a loss to the bottom-seeded Muntinlupa Cagers.
Now with a complete and healthy roster, MPBL’s best expansion team will try to push for a playoff slot in the MPBL Lakan Cup.
It won’t be easy though, they must cruise past the tough Batangas squad who’s getting hungrier and hungrier as the season goes.
Losing by a point in an action-packed thriller against the Bulacan Kuyas, Batangas is aiming for a huge bounce-back game.
With the emergence of Jason Melano as one of their go-to-guys, Batangas added another threat to their versatile offense and is looking to match up with Richard Escoto in terms of production.
Expect a trade of firepower between the two teams.
