Graduate scholars in Iloilo province can now receive PHP10,000 in financial aid to support their board exam review expenses.
The assistance is part of the provincial government’s effort to help scholars beyond graduation as they prepare for licensure exams.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. signed Executive Order No. 044 to implement Provincial Ordinance No. 2024-321, also known as the ordinance granting financial aid to Iloilo graduate scholars for board exam review in their respective fields.
The measure was authored and sponsored by Vice Gov. Christine “Tingting” Garin.
Eligible recipients include scholars from the Iskolar sang Iloilo Program (ISIP), Indigenous Peoples (IP) educational assistance, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) scholarship, children of OFWs in crisis and other provincial scholarship programs.
The one-time grant is for first-time board exam takers, whether enrolled in a formal review center or self-reviewing, as long as the exam is taken immediately or within two years after graduation.
Applicants must be residents and registered voters of Iloilo province for at least six months before applying.
Required documents include:
- Duly accomplished application form with undertaking
- One valid ID
- Transcript of records showing graduation date
- PRC Notice of Admission
- Barangay residency certificate
- COMELEC certification (active voter status)
- Certification as a provincial scholar
- Review center certificate (if enrolled), or
- Self-review plan (if reviewing independently)
Applicants must submit documents to the office handling their scholarship program:
- HRMDO – Province of Iloilo for ISIP scholars
- PSWDO – Province of Iloilo for IP and PWD scholars
- PESO – Province of Iloilo for children of OFWs in crisis
