The Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym never lost a step and maintained its dominance at the 2025 National Interschool Taekwondo Championships at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Fresh off a 58-gold medal campaign in Passi City, the talented Ilonggo jins picked up where they left off, tallying six golds in Metro Manila during the two-day national event.
The renowned Ilonggo taekwondo stable joined two categories in the tournament: the sparring/kyorugi category and the poomsae category.
It was in the poomsae category where the Pinggol-mentored jins stood out the most, where they bagged five of their six total gold medal tally.
A strong showing in poomsae ignited Iloilo MVP’s campaign, led by Cleo Alexandria Evangelista, Cattaleya Julia Orozco, Brynce Mathew Gaquit, Ma. Arabella Dayata, and Caelyn Balino.
Following their victories, the last team to deliver the final gold medal for the Iloilo MVP gym was composed of Sophia Bautista, Akira Encanto, Antonio Roldan, and Alleina Gajasan.
Those who managed to bag the silver medal were Nathan Xander Sirilan in the poomsae, and Jude Romea in the kyorugi event.
Capping off Iloilo MVP’s medal haul were bronze medals from Ryhden Uri Figueroa, Anna Regina Alfaro, Prince Franciz Jastillano, Joel Caña, Hertzela Sinoy, Cedric Kong, Jaz Andrei Dequilla, and Arianna Franchesca Hormillosa.
Honorable mentions who competed in the tournament were Jin Simon Saquilon, Duncan Kyle Rivera, Kylie Elise Olivares, Rania Hormillosa, Jan Emmanuel Dayata, Prinz Eufan, Abby Gaylo Lacanienta, and Fritzjerald Encanto.
Another tournament, another dominant finish. Congratulations, Iloilo MVP Gym!
