To help improve the overall system and program of the Iloilo City Sports Academy, main proponent Executive Assistant for Sports Rudiver Jungco Sr. decided to collaborate with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for the development of the coaches handling the Academy.
In an interview with the Daily Guardian, Jungco Sr. bared that their coaches in the Academy are undergoing a monthly online seminar conducted by the PSC to consistently gain more knowledge about the sport they are handling.
“Ang aton coaches, recognized na subong sang Philippine Sports Commission. They are all attending online seminars and by level na. If they can finish Level 1 then they can proceed to the next level of the seminar until they finish all levels,” Jungco Sr. said during the interview.
No definite schedule was released as to when they are conducting their seminars but said that the Iloilo City coaches must take time to participate at least once a month.
Currently, the Academy built by Jungco Sr. is continuing its program, with badminton, table tennis, arnis, boxing, chess, and lawn tennis ongoing under the strict and safety protocols imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Meanwhile, contact sports such as volleyball and football are still prohibited and will return once approved by the IATF and the government.
