ILOILO CITY Mayor Jerry P. Treñas met with teachers on July 4, 2019 to address the needs to strengthen the school sports programs for students.
A PIO report indicated that Executive Assistant for Sports Development Rudiver Jungco Sr. discussed with 90 sports coordinators of public elementary and high schools the various programs and projects of the new administration, including the athletes’ allowances, equipment, and facilities.
Jungco, who now heads the city’s Sports Development Division, said Treñas will look into the improvement of school gymnasiums and provision of needed equipment to be utilized in the student athletes’ trainings.
Treñas also eyes to increase the financial assistance to athletes to help them cope with expenses in their trainings, tournaments and competitions. (With a report from Iloilo City PIO)
