Iloilo City collects 105 medals, tops Batang Pinoy Visayas

Iloilo City continued its domination of the 2019 Batang Pinoy Visayas Qualifier at the Iloilo Sports Complex (ISC), March 1.

Iloilo is ahead of the partial medal tally with 41 gold, 33 silver, and 31 bronze medals.

The city got additional golds in taekwondo, courtesy of Kyorugi medalists Sendrick Valencia, Jed Morata, Elisha Venice Aguilar, Mervone Shayne Nicor, Seth Hendrik Porquez, Bill Kibanoff Donton III, Kyle Chin, and Jake Mamigo.

Arnisadors contributed medals to Iloilo City.

The gold medalists are Ram Deloso in Cadet Boys Traditional Individual 1 Weapon; Kyle Tiron, Jeremy Tañedo and Carl Reyes in Cadet Boys Traditional Team Open Weapon and Cadet Boys Non-Traditional Team Open Weapon; Clemence Alag in Cadet Girls Traditional Individual 2 Weapon; Tristan Guarte in Juniors Boys Traditional Individual 1 Weapon; Kyle Tiron in Cadet Boys Non-Traditional Individual 1 Weapon and Jaevan Susal in Juniors Boys Non-Traditional Individual 2 Weapon.

St. Robert’s International Academy (SRIA) jin Angela Bermejo settled for a silver medal finish, along with Neilin Jo Samson, Kyte Descutido and Francine Adelantar and bronze from Jex Jardio, Julius Gustillo, Jannah Velez, Joanne Ja Samson, Kythchie Lopez, Zhey Fiel, and Sean Paul Paracha.

Cebu City ranked second with 32 gold, 20 silver, and 33 bronze medals. Cebu Province is in third place with 30 gold, 39 silver, and 42 bronze medals.

Negros Occidental stamped their class in athletics to win 10 gold, six silver and two bronze medals, while at second and third place were Cebu Province (6-4-5) and Cebu City (4-8-8).

Kate Julienne Martinez of Bago City swept the girls throwing events after topping the javelin throw and discus throw events.

Negros Occidental is at fourth place with 29 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze medals; while Dumaguete City completes the top five teams with 17 gold, 20 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
