The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) confiscated more than PHP12.8 million worth of suspected shabu in a monthlong anti-illegal drug campaign in June.
From June 1 to 30, ICPO units conducted 64 anti-narcotics operations, leading to the seizure of 1.888 kilograms of shabu valued at PHP12.84 million.
Police also recovered 28 grams of marijuana during the series of operations.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of 25 high-value individuals (HVIs), 63 street-level individuals (SLIs) and three persons with outstanding arrest warrants.
The ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) recorded the highest volume of confiscated shabu at 610 grams, worth PHP4.153 million.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6, in coordination with other ICPO units, seized 457 grams of shabu worth PHP3.11 million.
Other major contributors included Iloilo City Police Station 10 with 184 grams (PHP1.252 million), Station 4 with 104 grams (PHP708,404), Station 8 with 102 grams (PHP695,274) and Station 5 with 86 grams (PHP591,100).
ICPO chief Col. Kim Legada commended the efforts of all 10 city police stations for their active role in the operations.
He said the accomplishments reflect ICPO’s dedication to making Iloilo City safer and drug-free.
“This is all about the power of teamwork and our shared commitment to address the problem of illegal drugs,” Legada said.
“With continued collaboration, we can eliminate this menace that threatens our communities. Together, we move closer to our goal of making Iloilo City truly drug-free.”
Legada assured the public that ICPO will intensify its anti-drug operations in support of the Philippine National Police’s campaign under the leadership of PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III.
