ICPO honors personnel, partners in PCR Month

Several units and individuals were recognized during the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) culmination ceremony of the 29th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month on July 31.

Adopting the theme “Ligtas Ka sa Pilipinas,” the celebration was supposed to have Dr. Annabelle Tang, Iloilo City Health Office head, as the guest of honor. She was represented by Dr. Roland Fortuna.

The program highlighted commendable contributions by some units and individuals in the field of police community relations.

The Iloilo City Police Stations 4 (Molo) and 5 (Mandurriao) were both adjudged as top performers in the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating from May 2023 to April 2024, each garnering 99.88%.

Staff Sergeant Mary Villanueva, ICPO’s CAD police non-communication officer, was named Outstanding Senior CAD PNCO for CY 2023-2024.

Additionally, Dr. Tang and Ramon Uy-Brillantes, a member of the Iloilo City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (ICAG-PTD), were recognized for their invaluable contributions and support to the ICPO.

Barangay Captain Antonio Jacoba Jr. of Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo City, along with his barangay tanods, Falcon C. Servania and Rodolfo Cabinos, were awarded for their dedicated service resulting in the rescue of a minor on June 20, 2024, in violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Colonel Kim Legada, ICPO officer-in-charge, emphasized that this year’s theme is a timely reminder that achieving a safer nation is an ongoing journey requiring the active involvement of every community member.

“It’s not solely the responsibility of the police; it’s a shared duty that calls for unity and cooperation,” he said.

Making the event more meaningful were orientations on services provided by the City Health Office (CHO) to police personnel, offering easy access to CHO and PhilHealth services for their family members.
