The Houston Rockets ended their two-game road trip on a high note after obliterating the Boston Celtics on their home floor, 128-101, in the ongoing NBA regular season on Nov. 2, 2025.
Carrying a huge momentum boost after lopsided wins over the Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors, Houston picked up where it left off and stunned the Celtics at TD Garden, ending their three-game winning streak.
All thanks to another balanced two-way effort from their stars, led by Kevin Durant, who put on a show with another efficient shooting display.
In just 29 minutes of playing time, the superstar scorer dropped 26 big points built from 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including two three-pointers and eight makes from the free-throw line.
Durant set the tone from the get-go after hitting back-to-back perimeter jumpers and attacking the Boston interior defense with relentless drives.
As a result of his first-quarter aggressiveness, Durant and the Rockets steamrolled to a commanding 37-24 lead that sparked their one-sided victory.
When Durant took a breather in the second quarter, the duo of Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson took charge as they capitalized on Boston’s late help defense from the weak side.
Houston ran and perfected the pick-and-roll between the 1-2 punch and abused its efficiency, especially going up against a thin Boston frontcourt rotation of Neemias Queta, Chris Boucher, and Luka Garza.
All hell broke loose midway through the third frame, when the Rockets mounted their largest lead of the ballgame to 36 points.
With too much deficit to overcome, Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla threw in the towel early in the fourth and opted to rest Jaylen Brown and Derrick White in preparation for their next game against the Utah Jazz.
After the 48-minute game, Houston finished another dub dominating the boards, as they outrebounded the Celtics 64-45, which helped them control the pace for four consecutive quarters.
Aside from his 26-point performance, Durant also stuffed the stat sheet with four rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist.
Thompson was also impressive after nearly tallying a triple-double stat line of 17 markers, nine boards, and eight dimes.
Sengun, who has been tearing it up in the last three games, added 16 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks, and a steal.
The Rockets will look to extend their winning streak to four games on Nov. 4 against the banged-up Dallas Mavericks squad.
