The queen of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games weightlifting competition is getting ready for the 2020 Roma World Cup.
Currently ranked number 4 and aiming to solidify her bid for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, joining the Roma tournament will boost her point total and help improve her ranking in the international women’s 55kg category.
Currently, Diaz is behind three Chinese weightlifters: Liao Qiuyun, Zhang Wanqiong, and Li Yajun, who are dominating the weightlifting scene within the Southeast Asia area.
Diaz said that her current ranking is more than enough to secure her Olympics berth but increasing her rank would be another achievement and is part of her long-time goals together with her team.
The competition is scheduled to begin on January 27, 2020.
