After an exciting opening of the 2023 Milo Champion’s basketball league held in Lawi Gym in Jordan, Guimaras, the second leg of the prestigious competition also drew tons of praise after a success in Nueva Valencia last April 23, 2023.
The highlight-filled second leg featured six games from morning to afternoon and was graced by hundreds of Guimarasnon hoops enthusiasts.
During the first game, Jaxx Claveria did it all for team Young Guns to help them take down the talented team Buluangan.
It was the first scheduled showdown in the 18-under category followed by a game in the 25-under category between team Lawi and Young Guns.
Team Young Guns then clinched another victory as Richsmith Jauro picked up his offensive rhythm against the patient perimeter defense of team Lawi.
In Game 3 of the schedule, Justine Infante came up big for JNHS and was awarded as the Best Player of the Game after dominating on both ends of the floor.
Infante and JNHS outdueled another squad on the rise team Falcons and just earned an outright ticket to the next round.
The game between Eastern Waves and Holy Rosary then treated the Guimarasnons in the fourth game of the Champion’s League.
Despite a hot shooting from Holy Rosary, team Eastern Waves weathered the storm and won the game with the help of Alfred Gustilo.
Team Archegos then prevailed over Amicus in the second to the last game while PCBA got the better of team NV in the last scheduled match of the day.
All teams and players will have one week of rest before the third leg kicks off in San Roque Gym in Buenavista, Guimaras.
