PBA slasher Jericho Cruz was called up by the Guam national team preparing for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
Included in the 24-man pool of Guam, the 6 foot 1 guard playing in NLEX is currently eligible to play because of his years of stay.
Getting his chance to finally play in the international scene, Cruz spent his younger years in Saipan before transferring to the Philippines for his tertiary years.
Right after his arrival, scouts were immediately impressed with what Cruz showed in his stint with Rizal Technological University.
The Adamson Soaring Falcons showed interest in Cruz’s skillset and acquired him from RTU where he blossomed into a scoring threat in the UAAP.
The last time that Cruz represented a country internationally was way back in 2013 during the Southeast Asian Games at Naypyidaw, Myanmar where they bagged the gold medal.
