BACOLOD City – A carcass of a female green sea turtle was found at the coastal area of Barangay Manta-angan, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental over the weekend.
According to Environment Management Specialist II (EMS II) Jojo Vargas, the turtle was 18 feet long and 12 feet wide.
It was found by some fishermen in the area around 6 a.m. last Saturday.
Vargas said they haven’t determined the reptile’s cause of death since no injuries can be seen on it.
However, they believed that it suffered internal injuries.
The carcass of the turtle was buried in the area.
