Granular lockdowns will be imposed on 15 barangays in Iloilo City for 72 hours amid the spike in COVID-19 cases.
Mayor Jerry Treñas issued Executive Order (E.O.) No. 009 on Monday, Jan 17, 2021, ordering localized containment on specific areas of the 15 barangays from Jan. 17 to Jan. 20.
The 15 barangays include Calumpang, San Juan, North Baluarte in Molo district; San Jose and Sto. Niño Norte in Arevalo; San Roque, Lanit, M.H. Del Pilar, and Our Lady of Lourdes in Jaro district; Loboc and Sinikway in Lapuz; Baybay Tanza and Nonoy Sto. Rosario in City Proper; and Aguinaldo and Nabitasan in La Paz.
Based on the EO, the 15 barangays recorded at least two and continuously increasing number of Covid-19 cases, based on the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test results from Sept. 14 to Sept. 21.
The areas/portions of the 12 barangays which will be under localized containment include the following:
-One house located at Blk 6 Lot in Ciudad de Iloilo, Brgy. Calumpang, Molo
-One house located near barangay hall one 2, Brgy. San Juan, Molo
-One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. North Baluarte, Molo
-One house located at Socorro Subdivision, Brgy. North Baluarte, Molo
-One house located at Blk 4, Gloryville Subdivision, Brgy. San Jose, Arevalo
-One house located near a beach resort, Brgy. Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo
-One house located at Brgy. San Roque, Jaro
-One house located at Imperial Homes, Brgy. M.H. Del Pilar, Jaro
-One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. Our Lady of Lourdes, Jaro
-One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. Lanit, Jaro
-One house located at near barangay hall, Brgy. Nabitasan, La Paz
-One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. Aguinaldo, La Paz
-One house located at Blk 22 Villa San Lorenzo, Brgy. Loboc, Lapuz
-One house located at No. 596 Blk 10 Lot, Brgy. Sinikway, Lapuz
-One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. Baybay Tanza, City Proper
-One house located at #25 Valeria Ext. Nonoy, Brgy. Nonoy Sto. Rosario, City Proper
The EO prohibits gatherings of any kind of people not belonging to the same household. Sale and consumption of any form of liquor is likewise prohibited.
Meanwhile, a curfew will be implemented in the affected areas from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
All residents of the affected areas are highly encouraged to stay at home and “refrain from unnecessary travel” until the testing and sanitation process is done. (DG)
