After leaving the PBA indefinitely citing that he wanted to “be able to work on myself on all aspects,” Ginebra big man Greg Slaughter is back in the Philippines.
Spending the last seven months in the United States following a deal inked with one of the biggest basketball agencies in the world, BeoBasket, Slaughter was the talk of the town last February after a surprising exit from Ginebra.
Slaughter didn’t talk about the issue much and only stated that he wanted to “help himself mature more as a player.”
With the PBA back after mimicking the NBA bubble and the FIBA qualifiers nearing in November, Slaughter made the decision to go back to the country after Ginebra set him up for a meeting.
Up to now, no decision has been made by Ginebra management whether they will include Slaughter in their official roster for the upcoming PBA bubble or give him another contract.
Gilas Pilipinas are closely monitoring the situation as they are also in pursuit of the big man depending on how the talks with Ginebra go.
If Slaughter will not be able to make it to the PBA bubble, they are likely to offer the big man a slot for the November window.
