Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 head coach Stefan Stojacic was back on the big stage and delivered a lights-out performance to lift his squad to another FIBA championship.
After a roller coaster 2019 due to injuries, Stojacic and his team, Liman, clinched the 2020 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Debrecen Masters.
Aside from nabbing the prestigious 3×3 title, the 31-year-old Serbian legend was hailed as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player who tallied a total of 41 points in the entire contest.
Stojacic went-off against the tagged “greatest 3×3 player of all time” Dusan Bulut and displayed poise under pressure by scoring an astounding 13-points to advance to the finals.
During the finals, Stojacic and Liman went blazing-hot and pummeled Lithuania’s Utena, 21-16 in just 8:39 of playing time.
“Watching 3×3 as a spectator was hard because I love playing so much,” said the newly designated Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 chief tactician.
After several stints abroad, the Serbian orchestrator will head back to the Philippines and resume coaching Alvin Pasaol, Joshua Munzon, CJ Perez, and Mo Tautuaa.
