Fresh off a dominant unanimous decision win against the hard-hitting Song Min Jong, Filipino Geje Eustaquio is more than ready to regain his lost ONE flyweight championship belt.
The former ONE flyweight king made everyone know that he is still one of the best and impressed with his “more matured” fighting style against Jong.
Coach Mark Sangiao and Team Lakay made their hard work evident as Eustaquio became a more efficient and precise striker than he was before, a thing he was inconsistent with right after he lost his championship belt.
Also, Eustaquio’s much-improved ground game showed in his bout against Jong where he would clip him several times and attempt a submission but failed to complete the maneuver.
“Whatever my drive was when I was younger, when I started and dreamed of becoming a World Champion, it’s still the same that I have now,” said Eustaquio.
More determined in getting back what used to be his, Eustaquio said that his main goal in ONE is to reclaim his lost belt but he admitted that the division became so stacked that veterans would have a hard time catching up with the new talents.
“It’s the same Geje Eustaquio that you’re looking at right now. The same motivation. The same hunger. In God’s perfect time, I believe the belt will rest again on my waist,” Eustaquio shared.
