GCash spotlights Ilongga lawyer’s journey in latest #GCashStories campaign

Atty. Sheila Gomez shares the inspiring story behind Kasama Mo Mangarap
GCash has launched the sixth installment of its #GCashStories campaign, featuring the story of Ilongga lawyer Atty. Sheila Gomez, whose journey from working student to practicing lawyer highlights the role that GLoan played in supporting her journey as a lawyer
Themed “Kasama Mo Mangarap,” the film launch recounts Gomez’s experience balancing full-time work while pursuing a law degree and navigating the financial demands of tuition, school requirements and daily living expenses.
To help cover her education costs, Gomez used GLoan, GCash’s digital instant cash loan service.
According to Gomez, the loan gave her the financial flexibility to pursue her dreams of completing law school and passing the bar, minus the financial anxiety.
Gomez eventually passed the Bar after her second attempt and is now practicing law.
She also uses other GCash lending services, including GCredit and GGives.
Speaking during a fireside chat at the campaign launch, Gomez said seeking financial assistance should not be viewed negatively when done responsibly.
“One of the biggest lessons I learned is that perseverance doesn’t always mean doing everything on your own. Sometimes, it means having the courage to seek the right support,” she said, adding that responsible borrowing can serve as an investment toward achieving long-term goals.
Neil Trinidad, Chief Marketing Officer of Mynt, the holding company behind GCash, said the campaign aims to highlight real-life stories that demonstrate how financial services can help Filipinos pursue their aspirations.
“Our GCash Stories campaign showed us that the most powerful script is that of real life,” Trinidad said.
“We believe our role goes far beyond providing financial tools—we want to empower Filipinos to keep moving forward.”
The #GCashStories campaign, now in its third year, features Filipinos who have used GCash services in overcoming personal and financial challenges.
Previous stories featured a Cocoy, a former bartender who started a business with the help of GLoan, Alma, a university employee who rebuilt her home after Typhoon Ulysses with the help of community donations via GCash, Turing, a drag performer who supported her family through digital tipping, Adz, a para-athlete who raised funds for advocacy, and Rhea, a boutique store owner who expanded access to financial services through a GCash Pera Outlet.
Lourdes Batac,Head of Communications Strategy for GCash, said the campaign seeks to showcase how digital financial services have contributed to the financial progress of ordinary Filipinos.

Tony Isidro, President and Chief Executive Officer of FUSE Financing, Inc.
Fuse President and Chief Executive Officer Tony Isidro emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to offering collateral-free loans and empowering customers to borrow with dignity, while actively driving responsible borrowing practices that foster sustainable, long-term financial health for its clients.
GCash’s campaign underscores its broader advocacy of expanding access to digital financial services, particularly for Filipinos pursuing education, growing businesses, supporting their families, or managing unexpected financial needs.
