One of the greatest imports the Philippines National Collegiate Athletic Association just passed away at the age of 33.
Multiple reports verified that Daniel suffered from an asthma attack last Saturday morning in Calatagan, Batangas.
Tagged to be NCAA’s “superman”, Daniel Sudan electrified the crowd during the 2010 season after steering the San Beda Red Lions to a perfect 18-0 run in Season 86.
Aside from the unblemished record, San Beda’s freak of nature also hauled all individual NCAA awards and also delivered a championship title to the prized school.
Sudan together with now PBA players Jake Pascual, Dave Marcelo, and Borgie Hermida formed one of the most formidable lineups in NCAA history led by the legendary Frankie Lim.
However, their hopes of a title repeat vanished after the 6-foot-7 center injured his ACL and missed the whole season the year after their perfect campaign.
Daniel then stayed in the Philippines after graduating from San Beda to become an executive for Titan and recently became an emcee for the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 tournament for almost two years now.
“You always kept it real and would spread positivity, just what a genuine guy does. You will definitely be missed,” Rome dela Rosa posted, his former teammate, who now plays for the Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA.
