One of the best midfielders Kaya FC-Iloilo ever had will be taking his talents to the famous German professional football league Bundesliga.
Sandro Reyes, a 19-year-old football stalwart who made noise after leading the Azkals Development Team (ADT) to a grand final qualification during the 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara Cup, was signed by German club SpVgg Greuther Furth currently categorized in the second division of the Bundesliga.
Reyes made an official announcement on his Instagram account, revealing that he already secured a contract with the German football club.
“This one is for those who were beside me through it all, and for the young boys and girls in the Philippines to dream big, one big leap para sa bayan,” wrote Reyes in his social media post.
Reyes first made waves in the PHL scene after being accepted in the football school of FC Barcelona, the FCB Escola when he was still a 9-year-old kid wonder.
After taking part as a student of the prestigious international football school, Reyes joined several circuit tournaments abroad.
The rising star was also the youngest member of the 2022 lineup of the Philippine Azkals that took part during the AFF Suzuki Cup.
Reyes’ consistent efficiency for the national football team earned him nine appearances on the world stage representing the country including the Mitsubishi Electric Cup last year where he cashed in a goal.
“The past couple of football years haven’t been the smoothest but hours of work every single day, faith in God’s will, and, of course, positivity and optimism always in between kept me going through my rough football days,” Reyes added.
