A month after announcing his comeback to the boxing ring next year, legend Floyd Mayweather revealed that his opponent would be social media star Logan Paul.
Mayweather last fought professionally in August 2017 when he won by TKO over mixed martial arts champion Conor McGregor.
“I know the Olympics is in Japan in 2021, but me, myself, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and my team will be doing something big in Tokyo Dome… Japan, I’m on my way,” said Mayweather in a video posted on his Instagram account.
Mike Coppinger of The Athletic first reported that the bout will push through and will be made available in pay-per-view via Fanmio starting at $24.99.
Paul is a famous social media star who first gained popularity in the application Vine and eventually transferred to Youtube and Instagram where he currently has millions of followers (22.6 million on YT and 18.6 million on IG).
With regards to his boxing background, Paul previously fought another social media star in KSI where he lost in their second duel via a split decision.
Logan is the brother of Jake who previously defeated Nate Robinson during the undercard star-bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
