Fishpond Watcher Stabbed in Sapian
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A fishpond watcher was seriously injured after being hacked by a co-worker Monday evening, April 21, in Sitio Tulay, Barangay Dapdapan, Sapian, Capiz. The victim was identified as Rebo Sugabo, 27, of Concepcion, Iloilo, while the suspect was Generoso Obrence, 55, a native of Barangay Majanlud, Sapian.

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A fishpond watcher was seriously injured after being hacked by a co-worker Monday evening, April 21, in Sitio Tulay, Barangay Dapdapan, Sapian, Capiz.
The victim was identified as Rebo Sugabo, 27, of Concepcion, Iloilo, while the suspect was Generoso Obrence, 55, a native of Barangay Majanlud, Sapian.
According to the Sapian Municipal Police Station, Sugabo was on his way to a nipa hut to rest when he passed by another hut where Obrence was staying.
A heated argument ensued, during which Obrence allegedly took a bolo and struck Sugabo on the head.
The victim was rushed to Mambusao District Hospital in Mambusao town by the Sapian Emergency Response Team.
Police said the suspect voluntarily surrendered after the incident.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and will file appropriate charges against Obrence.
The attending physician said the victim is now in stable condition and out of danger.
Police also confirmed that both the suspect and the victim had been drinking alcohol before the incident.
