Fisherman yields P149,000 ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a fisherman in a buy-bust operation that yielded 22 grams of suspected shabu worth P149,600 at Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Punta Taytay here early Friday.
The subject was identified as Rien Vic Gersabalino, 38, of the said village. He is a street-level individual, according to the police.
Captain Joven Mogato, CDEU head, said that it took them six days to monitor the suspect after receiving information about his alleged engagement in the illegal drug trade.
Mogato said the suspect’s alleged clients were other fishermen.
Police also recovered from him the P1,000 marked money, and P150.
Investigation is ongoing to locate the source of the illegal drugs and links of the suspect for follow-up operation.
