Monique Ann Demaisip and Francisco Deorelar impressed the world in the 10th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships held in India, notching gold medals in their respective categories.
Demaisip won the gold both in the 1 and 3-meter Springboard Individual Open events after dispatching five divers in the 1m category and four divers in the 3m category.
In the 1m category, Demaisip scored 185.55 to take over the first spot, snatching it from Kazakhstan’s Borova Yelizaveta with a score of 180.30. In the 3m category, she scored 214.40 points, 7 points higher than Kazakhstan’s Zhijravlev Juliya who garnered 207.25 at second place.
Meanwhile, Deorelar bested nine other divers in the men’s 3m category, racking up a huge 295.70 points compared to Indian silver medalist Sharma Ramananda, who scored 287.75.
Both swimmers are part of the roster for the upcoming SEA Games.
