Filipino-American teen hoop sensation Sage Tolentino has a very difficult decision to make entering his college career.
After getting offers from Kentucky, Kansas, and Tennessee State heading into the next NCAA season, Tolentino also got a formal and direct offer from one of the most popular tertiary ball grounds, Auburn University.
The 16-year-old emerging star revealed that it was head coach Bruce Pearl who directly asked if he can reinforce the squad and make them a better team.
“I am humbled and honored to receive an offer from Coach Pearl and the entire Auburn family. All glory to God,” Tolentino wrote in his Instagram post.
Tolentino is currently training under the East West Private in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Filipino hopeful Cholo Anonuevo is also honing his game since arriving in the United States.
Listed at 6 feet, 11.5 inches tall, Tolentino’s insane length in the collegiate level was a key factor in head coach Pearl pursuing him.
Auburn was ranked 20th overall in the United States and expects to rank higher if they manage to recruit the Filipino sensation.
