A farmer accused of rape was arrested on the morning of May 19 in San Remigio, Antique.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Ben, 35, who was apprehended at his residence in Barangay Sinundolan.
Members of the San Remigio Municipal Police Station served the arrest warrants for two separate rape charges.
Ben is facing a charge of statutory rape under paragraph (1)(D), Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353, docketed as Criminal Case No. 2025-04-11414.
He is also accused of qualified rape by sexual intercourse, docketed as Criminal Case No. 2025-04-11415.
Both warrants were issued on May 13, 2025, by Judge Jonee Bill del Castillo Tañeza of Branch 12, Regional Trial Court, San Jose, Antique.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
He is currently under the custody of the San Remigio police for proper case disposition.
Authorities said Ben is the sixth most wanted person in Western Visayas.
He is also the top most wanted individual in Antique province and in San Remigio town.
