Farmer dies after carabao attack in Negros

HINIGARAN, Negros Occidental — A 38-year-old farmer died after he was gored by a carabao in Barangay Quiwi on Thursday.
Police identified the victim only as Ronald.
The initial investigation showed that the victim’s live-in partner was fetching water when she heard someone screaming and calling for help from a nearby agricultural field.
When she checked the area, she found Ronald lying on the ground with multiple injuries while a 7-year-old male carabao continued attacking him.
Nearby residents helped pacify and restrain the animal.
Police said the carabao was being used by the victim for farming.
Ronald was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
