F2 Logistics inches closer to PVL semis after taking down Choco Mucho

The stacked and talented F2 Logistics Cargo Movers moved on the cusp of a semifinal qualification in the ongoing 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino conference.

F2 Logistics outdueled the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-23, 25-19, 13-25, 25-22, last March 7, 2023, held at the Philsports Arena.

With the huge win, the former Philippine Superliga (PSL) volleyball queens will only be needing one more victory to formalize their ticket into the tournament’s final four.

Kim Kianna Dy had another stellar performance for the Cargo Movers as the national team outside hitter played one of her best offensive games after dropping 23 points built from 19 successful attacks.

Dy answered the call when their top spiker Myla Pablo failed to return to the game after suffering cramps in the crucial fourth set of the match.

The De La Salle University (DLSU) standout was all over the court, scoring in a variety of ways while also delivering the finishing blow during their last offensive possession.

F2 looked comfortable after taking the first two sets and were bound for another 3-0 sweeping victory but the young core of Bea De Leon and Maddie Madayag boosted Choco Mucho’s hopes when they spearheaded an insane scoring run in the third set.

The Flying Titans contained the Cargo Movers’ fluid offensive sets and put more emphasis on their floor defense that got exposed when F2 cruised to a 2-0 lead.

Just when Choco Mucho thought they already figured out F2’s schemes, the veteran experience of the Cargo Movers rose to the occasion led by Aby Maraño who shouldered the defensive load when the Flying Titans waxed hot midway through the fourth set.

Maraño’s personal 3-0 scoring rally lifted the Cargo Movers out of a 14-17 deficit and also sparked F2 in the most important stretch of the game.

“Syempre happy kami kahit na cardiac-in nila ako every game, basta panalo. Syempre masaya kami doon, but hindi pa rin kami dapat maging complacent or mag-relax, kasi hindi pa tapos,” said F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego.

The Cargo Movers will look to end their regular season in style as they square off with the Army-Black Mamba on March 11, 2023, to be held at the FilOil EcoOil Center.
