Ex-village kagawad, 2 others caught in drug bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A former barangay kagawad of Poblacion Ilaya, Panay, Capiz and two others were arrested in a drug buy bust operation conducted Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 18, by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) in Brgy. Dumulog, here.
The suspects were former kagawad Nicolai Linen, 39, of Poblacion Ilaya, Panay; Josefini Frondosa, 35; and Michaela Castulo,19, both residents of Brgy. Dumulog here.
Recovered from the three were 5 grams of suspected shabu valued at P20,000.
The suspects denied they were into the illegal drug trade but admitted having used illegal drugs.
Police said that Linen was arrested in 2017 in Paranaque City, but he was released on bail.
Recovered were 11 sachets of suspected shabu and 9 more sachets of suspected shabu on a table; the P1,500 marked money; fake money; P1,080 personal cash of the suspects; and three cellphones.
The suspects were detained at the Roxas City Police Station for proper disposition.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 were filed against them.
