Filipino boxing sensation Eumir Marcial will be returning to the ring and will face Isiah Hart from America on April 9 for his second professional fight in the middleweight division.
The long wait is over as the highly-touted Olympic bronze medalist will finally get back in the professional scene since clinching his debut win against American Andrew Whitfield last December 2020.
“I am so excited to return to my professional career and to be fighting in Las Vegas, where I now live and train, and it’s a great way to get things going again,” said Marcial.
Marcial arrived in Las Vegas two months ago and has been training with head trainer Jorge Capetillo and strength and conditioning coach Angel ‘Memo’ Heredia.
The fiery clash of the middleweights will be held at The Theater of the Virgin Hotels and will be aired and televised on Showtime Boxing.
Marcial will be facing a hard-hitting Hart who already knocked out four of his eight opponents while carrying an impressive six wins, two losses professional record.
Aside from preparations for his second pro career fight, Marcial is also getting ready to defend his championship trophy for the upcoming 2022 Southeast Asian Games and the 2022 Asian Games.
Marcial is still promoted and supported by the Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions headed by president Sean Gibbons and boxing’s only eight-time division world champion himself.
“I am really excited to have Eumir back in the professional ranks after a tremendous showing in Tokyo at the Olympics and winning the bronze medal for the Philippines. I have worked with a lot of top fighters over the years, but Eumir is the best I have been with, coming out of the amateur ranks. And the sky is the limit,” said Gibbons.
