Electronic sports (Esports) group Philippine Esports Organization (PeSO) is currently doing all necessary actions to get a national sports association (NSA) accreditation.
After years of contemplating, the largest and the grandest esports alliances finally decided to create a core group to form the country’s official esports association.
However, to do so, PeSO should have the vote of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) for them to be officially determined as PH’s esports forefront.
“PeSO’s application for NSA accreditation is bolstered by the unified presence of the biggest and most credible collection of esports stakeholders in the Philippines, who have tirelessly worked towards the industry’s growth and betterment since the early 2000s,” wrote in PeSO’s statement.
The alliance decided to execute their long-time proposals to further help boost the PH’s esports scene and at the same time take the responsibility to develop esports in the country.
Members of the PeSO alliance are Bren Esports, Gariath Concepts, Mineski Philippines, The Nationals, Playbook Esports, Tier One Entertainment, TV5, and TNC Holdings supported by Smart Communications.
“Our goal is to continue leading the way to bring glory to Philippine esports. After supporting Team Sibol in the 2019 SEA Games, Smart reaffirms its commitment to the esports industry by looking for the next members of Team Sibol who will represent the Philippines in the IESF World Championships,” said Jane Basas, SVP and head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.
