After a three-year boxing hiatus, “The Truth” is back.
On Feb. 10, 2026, multiple reports confirmed that former undisputed welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. will make a highly anticipated return this summer against former World Boxing Organization (WBO) super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu.
Spence has not returned to the ring since suffering his first professional loss to Terence “Bud” Crawford on July 30, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
What was predicted to be a close 50-50 match in the most anticipated welterweight unification bout of 2023 turned into a one-sided beating as Crawford scored a stunning ninth-round technical knockout (TKO) over Spence.
Fans in Las Vegas went crazy after witnessing Spence get knocked down three times after 28 consecutive wins since entering the professional scene in 2012.
As the ninth round approached, Crawford supporters began to stand as Spence got battered by consecutive combinations. With only 40 seconds left, Crawford unleashed an undisputed-clinching eight-punch streak that forced the referee to stop the fight.
Spence admitted it was the most devastating moment of his pro career, and he needed more time away from the ring to recover from the loss.
Now ready and locked in, Spence is aiming for a triumphant return against Tszyu, an Australian challenger known for his aggression and high-volume approach.
Tszyu formerly held the WBO super welterweight belt but lost to Sebastian Fundora. A year later, he attempted to regain his title in a rematch but failed after suffering a first-round knockout.
The 31-year-old pressure brawler is coming off a momentum-boosting win over Anthony Velasquez and is looking to improve his pro record of 26 wins, 18 knockouts, and three defeats.
As of this writing, the time, date, full undercard, and venue of the Spence-Tszyu welterweight showdown have yet to be determined.
