Iloilo United Royal enforcer Richard Escoto was picked by South division head coach Don Dulay as part of his All-star reserves in the 2020 MPBL All-star game.
Averaging 14.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, Escoto was an obvious choice for the south division coaching staff.
Initially known as a stretch-four, Escoto’s improved ball-handling, shooting and playmaking allowed the 6’4” forward to bring his game to new heights.
Escoto will be joining Alvin Pasaol of Zamboanga, Rob Celiz of GenSan, Pari Llagas of Sarangani, and Will McAloney of Cebu in an overwhelming front-court roster.
For the guards, the South division will be stacked by Gerald Anderson of Imus, GJ Ylagan of Muntinlupa, Paolo Javelona of Bacolod, Rodel Vaygan of Mindoro, Allan Mangahas of Biñan, and former PBA scoring elite Ronjay Buenafe of Bicol.
